Krewe hit me up to work together on capturing the launch of their new King Street storefront party last month and they always know how to throw an incredible party. With live jazz music, oysters and caviar and cool sunglasses, everyone is sure to have a great time - and that makes capturing some fun photos all the more fun too. My buds Kristin and Sterling started a business this year curating beautiful antiques from all over, and it has been so fun to see the success it has had already. They have grown quite rapidly and as they expand their abilities, decided to invest in product photography for a soon-to-come web store that features their pieces beautifully, highlighted by impeccable styling they have such an eye for. We had a lot of fun finding ways to stylishly use pieces to show scale for such a broad array of product and I think we did just that in such a unique way! What started as a single day shoot led to two full days of capturing every angle of every product and we got to bring to life the vision they had to make their products accessible to everyone, not just those locally. Here are a few favorites from our two days together!
I always love getting to work with my pals at Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit - a Charleston staple who have built an incredible brand built on amazing biscuits, inventive recipes, and building up others in the process. They always have exciting ideas for our shoots, fun ways to implement their biscuits in neat ways and classic dishes, it is always a joy to capture and to create imagery with them that serves a broad range of uses. My wife, Tolly, and I got to scoot on up to Rhode Island for a few days to escape the Charleston heat and get some good quality time in before welcoming our first child to soak up the last little bit of it just being the two of us in this family. We’d both been looking forward to visiting Newport having never really been to New England before - it was the best few days soaking up the summer and the scenic coast all around the state.
